Banned..but for what?
Hey, this midday I could still play Guild Wars, but I log in now..;and I'm banned!!

If its for an unacceptable name they normally let you change it I think. If thats the case then you'll be able to see which one they thought was bad.

I only get a message saying:
You have been banned from guild wars for having an un-acceptable name. You may continue playing GW within 71 hours. Or something. But NOT what the name was... However, I did ask for a name change, BUT that was for Rick Habets. |

Just a guess, but it may have been "The Elona Guardian" that did it. Sometimes they don't like people using in-game name resources. For example, naming your char "Prince Rurik" would a no-no. (I doubt you could do that in the first place, but you get the point). Remove the Elona part and see if that's better.
Sometimes, having a "bad word" inside another bad word might do it to. Like "Eshito Matsuma" might set it off, because the Eshito contains a bad word. Good luck! |

I'll bet you a nickel you were accidentally banned. There's nothing wrong with any of those names. It was probably a typo on the PlayNC end. Doesn't it feel just a tad too coincidental that you got a name ban when you asked for a name change?

they have already stated prominent ingame names are not acceptable.
i think this qualifies. send in an official ticket and ask them which is the problem and to unban if a mistake as been made. GO TO SUPPORT NOT HERE |

1. You say you requested a name change, which is normally not allowed.
2. You then received a "problem name" ban. 3. Normal procedure with #2 is when ban expires you can request a name change for the problem character and ANet will do it and unblock that character with his/her new name in place. And your problem is what?

I had a 3 day ban once for an un-acceptable name:
Hu Flung Pooh the sad part was I had gone to Droks, and these 2 guys were on a roll with the most hateful racist remarks, and I told them I had taken a screenie and was going to report them. Then one said " your name is offensive to Orientals". So I guess he reported me as well, no idea. When they ban your for a name, they tell you which name you were banned for and they make you change the name. If it happens again, then they will delete that character with whatever it has. So if it was due to a name, and for my life I see nothing wrong with any of them, if they haven't told you for which one, when you go log on after the ban, you will be told to rename your character, and then you know which name they consider innapropriate. Keep us posted, I'm really curious. take care and good luck

As has been stated, please contact the appropriate plaync support site for your region, which may be found here.
Whatever given community members may or may not feel about your name is largely irrelevant. The individuals who can handle the issues, and the only ones that can overturn it, are not here, and these topics lead to little more than pointless speculation, sometimes which has little to nothing to do with the actual ban reason. You should be able to receive clarification and state your case through support, and, if appropriate, possibly even overturn it. Also note that, if an inappropriate character name is the case for a ban, after completion of suspension, you will be able to continue playing that character after a name change. This means both that you will lose nothing but your time, and you will be able to find out which name resulted in the ban.
